Architects Beazley Moliere completed a total historic restoration of the St. Bernard Parish 34th District Courthouse which was severely damaged during Hurricane Katrina. This project is a historic 1936, Art Deco style building. The building is three stories with a concrete and masonry structure including an exterior limestone veneer. The building is eligible for the National Historic Register and is recognized by FEMA as a historical structure.
ABM provided total A/E services to preserve the historic structure, including restoring many one-of-a-kind components originally produced by named artisans. ABM also added two, three-story exit stair towers to enhance life-safety and ensure the safety of its occupants. This project is 44,000 square feet with a total construction cost of $13.6 million.
