A local developer, contracted ABM to design improvements for the exterior of her recently purchased building. The owner’s concept was to renovate and improve the previous catering and Banquet Facility under a new name, The Palmetto Club. The facility houses two restaurants and the banquet facility.
The aesthetic direction relates to the function and brand of The Palmetto Club, which was to have a “southern garden” feel. The existing brickwork was repaired and “washed” with a stucco finish. New insulated storefront glass was installed to replace the original, single pane windows to allow the building to become more energy efficient. The selection of horizontal “tube” material is intended to convey a feeling of “lattice work” attached to the exterior walls. Original metal artwork was produced and installed by local craftsman, Ralph Goodyear, including custom sconces, signage for the Palmetto Club, door pulls and sculptural elements.
The Oil Center location came with the issue of limited parking. Our firm worked with the owner to determine the best use of the existing parking spaces as they relate to each of the tenant spaces.
